The ski resorts in the Kosciuszko National Park sit  right on the edge of the snow covered Australian Alps.  When you leave the top of  Crackenbaclk chairlift in winter and spring you head out into a snow covered wilderness  with spectacular scenerey and perfect solitude at every turn.There  are several excellent backcountry tour operators in Thredbo who can make a day on the  range as easy as around of golf.
